Transportation and Security Coordinator Job Description Reports To:
Assistant Superintendent Job Goal:
Responsible for ensuring proper functioning of the pupil transportation program and overall safety and security for the district.
Responsible for delivering effective professional communications both internally and externally to optimize relations between the I.

Responsible for ensuring a safe and secure culture and community.
Essential Skills Plans, organizes, supervises, and performs school safety and security work according to standard procedures.
Ensures the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and school district property in accordance with school district policies to help provide an educational climate that is safe and conducive to learning.
Leads district and school safety planning, maintains and ensures implementation of school safety plans.
Conducts safety and security assessments and patrols of district facilities.
Coordinates district threat assessment procedures.
Monitors anonymous reporting systems and social media as a component of threat assessment.
Assists school administrators with investigations as assigned Plans and coordinates safety drills and exercises.
Leads safety training for staff, students, and parents Assists with developing and coordinating cooperative agreements with other agencies Coordinates with school resource officers Serves as a liaison between the school district and state and local law enforcement and emergency management agencies Communicates district safety and security procedures to staff, students, and parents Advises the Assistant Superintendent on all security matters; prepares drafts of security plans; administers the security budget; evaluates the security program continuingly and recommends changes as necessary to the Assistant Superintendent.
Supervises safe school personnel.
Makes assignments as necessary to provide for the security and protection of all students, staff and property.
Inspects safe school personnel and property within the district keeping alert for suspicious or hazardous conditions.
Prepares instructions for oncoming safe schools personnel and makes pertinent information available for their review Maintains updated transportation information on the web site, and any other communications deemed necessary to promote the overall student transportation program.
Coordinates a transportation program to meet all local, state, and federal laws and regulations and the daily instructional program and extra-curricular activities.
Prepares and updates bus schedules for all public, non-public, private, homeless, early intervention, and special education schools in order for all pupils to be transported in the most efficient and effective manner possible and to ensure any legally required background clearances and related reports have been secured and properly processed.
Works closely with contractors to ensure that schedules are carried out properly.
Keeps an accurate count of pupils using the transportation program.
Maintains records necessary to prepare all state reports as required by PDE.
Arranges transportation in case of any emergency/school closing/early dismissal/sick child and special school trips.
Communicates with and assists the principals and bus drivers related to discipline programs occurring on school buses and solutions.
Establishes and maintains a good rapport with administration, students, teaching staff, and the community.
